Shore fishing in Tenerife.

Hello all, I am a rare visitor to your site, tending to stick to the coarse fishing site, but I'm sure you wont hold this against me!!

I visit Tenerife regularly, and normally spend my time fishing from the shore. I have caught many different species, but I have never tried lure fishing.

Could anyone advise me if it's worth trying, and if so, what lures, tackle etc. I should be using??

Thanks in anticipation,

Bacon.

There is a thread here on fishing in Lanzarote and a contributor posted pictures of mullet - he also mentioned barracuda loitering at the harbour mouth! Anything metallic or silver that will glint will attract even small barracuda and if you need distance then looks at some bass bullets.

FWIW...

Whoa dont be in too much of a rush to pack the tackle you can't fish in the harbours it's a 300 euro fine and they are keen to enforce it! and my experience of a few weeks ago fishing from the roks on the shoreline is that in general it's a waste of time....

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes there is baracuda in Lanzarote, you have to fish them from the coast near the harbours where there is a lot of small fishes early in the morning and when the sun is going down.

Other questions? whenever you want, if we can help you....here we are!!!!!!

I have banged off a few questions about (a) the fine pf € 300 fior fishing in the harbours, (B) whether it is worth fishing from the shore outside of harbours and © what bait to use...

Awaiting a reply...
