allthough not strictly abbotsbury, myself and ziggy fished cogden this morning.it was raining quite heavily at 8.30 at when we picked up our bait.but we both decided too persevere and it actually turned out to be quite a nice day.with a background noise of sky larks ,ziggy fished a single hook rig( with cork)and beads.i fished with two rods using a loch fynne rig?? which comprised of two blades ,two hook rig with beads. ragworm was the bait i tipped mine with squid.i actually missed 30 minutes of the session when ziggy concussed me with a large rock,i can just remember him saying this is from newt and something about crap puns********.

it was a bit slow at first but i managed to get quite a hefty bite but it was not maintained.then i caught two small spider crabs.ziggy had a small knock but nothing transpired.ziggy had to go on and as soon as he left i managed to get a 2pound plaice.as it swallowed the trace i dispatched it ,with the same blood splatttered rock that ziggy had hit me with.all in all i had 4 bites resulting in one plaice,4 small spider crabs.a most enjoyable time and it was a shame that myself and ziggy couldnt of fished longer.

the plaice was caught at low tide..

The salary of the chief executive of a large corporation is not a market award for achievement. It is frequently in the nature of a warm personal gesture by the individual to himself.

As of May this year (2007) the national trust will make you pay to park at Cogden - seems to be the same charges as at Bexy - 40p an hour or £2 all day. Wonder if they'll use the money to pay for someone to stop the cars getting stolen & set fire to ??:angry::thumbs:

If Tesco put up a sign that says they accept no responsibilty for your welfare above the door and you fell over, or tore an item of clothing inside their store, then you'd probably get compensation. Even if you had no intention of buying something.

Quite how paid-for car-parks get away with avoiding their Duty Of Care has always confused me. A decent lawyer needs to win a case to overturn such a ridiculous situation.

Tis true, no one dares fish overnight at cogden anymore, years ago, i think before the National Crust owned it, you had to pay, but you could drive down the bottom & park your car where you could keep your eye on it.

Seatown is also stiched up for overnight parking, the car park shuts at 5pm, ruined the thursday night club match ddown there.

With cogden & hive now under National Crust control, might be worth getting membership, soon pay for itself if you fish the venues regular + you could visit places like Dunster & see what a mess i made of it :D

:clap2: Actually I believe a case has been won when it was ruled that if you charge for something, being parking or whatever, then you have to provide some service and accept some responsibility. You cannot charge then deny any responsibility. Once somebody points something out, the owners cannot deny liability if a loss occurs.

What could happen is that they then ban parking because it's not worth the hassle for the money they receive. Or they could make parking after a certain time free and deny responsibility.

At £43.50 for a single annual membership, you'd only have to park at Studland bay 7 times to get your money back, being £6 a go to park there!!! :schmoll::yucky::angry:
