Penn 525 Super mag

Recommended Posts

if you are after using light line for good distance with a multiplier then 12lb is fine, just keep the level a little lower than usual. i wouldnt fish anything lighter in most uk waters cause abrasion kills light line. i dont fish lighter than 18lb most of the time as I can cast far enough for all my fishing.

I have these two lines and the Ultima looks thinner than the ProGold.

Having converted the 0.37mm it comes out at 0.146 which is a slightly smaller diametre, but would it show just by looking at it?

Just worth retying the leader knot every so often as this quite often becomes the weakest area and likely to snap first.

I have reloaded the ABU 6500 mag with Ultima F7 titanium 20lb test Dia 0.37mm,talk about low memory, I think it could work out very well.

The 16' Mitchell is a multi rod so it has to be the devil I know, it is just working out which one.

"Do you use fluorocarbon lines as mainline?

I only use it for hooklengths 'cos its expensive stuff."

Having used the fourocarbon for casting this weekend I am sold on it for main line.

Casting into a head wind was so much easier because the line has no memory it stays in a straight arc eliminating the coiling action of standard mono. It lays on the spool much neater and has an all round better feel to it.

Might be a bit more expensive but for me there will be no going back.
