Have you been using the Bewick much? If so, is anything you wish to add? I’m poised to buy one, and didn’t want to be let down. Your Bewick review ticked a lot of boxes of what I consider a good centrepin should be, I’m hoping you’re still happy with it.

I bought one on the strength of Alan’s review and I’m very pleased that I did. It is a superb reel.

 

I think it’s best suited to more gentle flows it’s a small reel and the retrieve rate is quite slow. The line lay diameter is 2 ¾ inches as compared to 3 ¾ inches for the Match Aerial and 3 ½ inches for the AN ‘pin.

 

Not important to some but for me time spent retrieving is time lost trotting, particularly when your float’s 40 yards away.

 

You won’t be let down.

I need a good casting reel, more than a trotting reel, hardly ever do any trotting these days as it happens. The Bewick seems extremely utilitarian and simple.
