oh no, more skate from oban!

short and sweet,

 

fed up with virtually nothing but political threads and bitching i thought i would put a couple of pics of my trip to oban yesterday.

 

a really nice day out, not too cold, tide a bit on the big side but as it slacked off i got a strong run which produced this chap after a 45 minute fight

 

123lb common skate

 

 

 

then almost straight after he went back my son had this small female of 92lb

 

 

 

while me and liam were returning her my rod shot off again but i let tony take it as it was probably the fish he dropped on his own rod while liam was playing his fish

 

after a very hard fight of 40 minutes and atleast 7 big dives a nice female at 181lb

 

 

 

we chucked it after this fish as it was after 3pm and there wasn't much daylight left and got this shot from just off the slip

 

 

pretty end to a very good day blowing off the christmas cobwebs

not quite on my doorstep WSF, a 138 mile 2hours and 40 minute drive towing.

 

at the moment i wish we had a venue like the mersey for cod, i don't think i'll see a cod until spring unless i go shore fishing........nah....too much like work

Snatcher the invites still there as soon as the lenght of the days makes the trip worth it. I Know its a long trip for you Elton but well worth the effort
