Wingham Fish-In Sat May 19th to Mon May 21st

I've been asked to periodically remind members of the dates of the next Wingham Fish-In. As many of you will be booking holidays now this seems like a good time.

After last year's great catches (bream to 16-06, tench to 9-13 and perch to 3-05) I'm expecting a lot of demand. For full details please click on the link below.

Please note though I will not be taking bookings until about the beginning of May.

I've been asked whether future fish-Ins are always likely to be at the same time of year.

The answer is yes, they'll be 3 day events finishing on the last but one Monday in May.

IMO, anyone who has a chance to fish Wingham should absolutely try their hardest to book a slot. Jan & I traveled over 3000 4000 miles to fish there this past spring and it was well worth the effort.

Long-time members will be familiar with the lakes and the wonderful offer Steve & Peggy Burke make for us each year by hosting a free-to-AN-members event. Newer members probably want to take a moment to click on the links and get more information on the Wingham and the fish-in.

edit note: Jan just told me I had underestimated the distance so the new figure is more accurate.

If I'm lucky enough to fish Wingham again next year I hope it's warmer than last year and the tench are switched on...a record bream would also be OK. Or a huge perch. :D

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Where is the nearest airport?

Until recently it was just down the road at Manston and there were direct flights to Shannon. Unfortunately the firm went out of business and the new operator hasn't got under way yet. However it'd be worth checking from time to time.

Otherwise it would be Gatwick - about 1½ hours drive.

Where abouts is Wingham?

I would love to go this year as I was so jealous reading all the reports and seeing the photos this year.

...will have to get the missus something nice for X-Mas!

I've been asked who's eligible to attend. The answer is any Forum member. In fact priority will be given to those who haven't fished at Wingham before.

And the cost? Nothing!

Here's hoping the fishing is even better than last year. Better still, I hope one of you breaks the bream record!
