Fished well after full moon Monday

General

The Full Moon on Monday gave the anglers spectacular fishing on all 3 lakes, with some anglers taking over 200 fish and actually coming to reception for a cuppa to recover and relax, all the lakes fished outstanding with some good specimen sized fish being caught as well on each lake.

Water temperatures have rose again with the good weather, and because of this, we have kept aerators on all the time, which has also helped fishing, catches. Next Monday should also produce some good fishing

All hook baits are working at this water temperature but remember to get feed patterns correct as all species feeding ferociously after spawning. Try soaking Angel feed pellets for paste, or soak and add caster or chopped worm to form a groundbait to get bottom feeders into your swim.

Sweet flavourings now work well in warm water conditions, use scopex, tutti fruit etc, add some to your feed pellets or put a drop on you hook bait.

Fish tight in the margins of the first shelf by the reeds both left and right of you fishing peg, and try just out in front of the second shelf plumb up to find your correct depths and some excellent fishing will result. Try out at 6 metres for skimmers and  tench at dead depth and rudd on the drop will produce good quantities.

The next good moon phase will be next Monday so if you have a few hours spare my advice will be go fishing!

Lookout

Some outstanding tench caught this week , also a high number of crucians, carp are back on the feed after spawning, so are the koi and ghosties, rudd are being caught in very high numbers on the drop just of the second shelf.  Ide, Golden Orfe and even roach are also being caught mid to just of the surface, skimmers and bream are very hungry after spawning and can be caught in good numbers on provision you feed enough to keep them in your swim. A cracking 3lb 3oz perch was caught on worm very tight in the margins in the reeds, and some good numbers of other perch but patience is needed to target this species this week as they have loads of fry to feast on after all the fish species have spawned.  Tench to 8 lb have been caught and golden tench above 3lb feeding dead bottom, tench have been our last species to spawn.

Bowes

Monday was a cracking day for this lake with very high numbers caught as well as some good high weight carp caught, even on Wed evening match the high weight individual carp  were caught on pole by Andy Dargue on peg 5. Pleasure anglers have had some excellent numbers of carp out, with the carp moving all around the lake to feed.

Bassetts

Mondays new moon helped this pond produce fantastic catches with every species feeding fiercely, golden orfe over 3lb, Ide over 2lb, Rudd, Roach, tench, carp, koi, skimmers, the only species that seemed missing was gudgeon which is because the anglers were set up for larger fish. Young Lue Deathe 8 yrs old had a great Learn to fis taster session his first with well over 20 fish-well done Lue.
