Carp Fishing In Surrey

For those who don’t know Bury Hill Fisheries, it is one of the oldest mixed coarse fishing lakes in the south of England. A re-stocking several years ago has seen this fishery explode recently with a very large number of large carp being caught from Temple Lake, which is the only lake to be run on a membership basis out of the 4 lakes on offer at the 200 year old fishery.

Adam PorterWith 6 more thirties this week, it brought the total number of thirty pound carp caught from Temple lake over the last 3 months to an amazing 70 fish! Including a new lake record, a stunning big mirror weighing 38lb 7oz, virtually every other fish is now a thirty and such is the growth of Temple’s pucker English fish that we fully expect our first forty very soon.

The best fish of the week went to Adam Porter who caught a brace of mirrors weighing 37lb 8oz and 22lb. Fishing swim 10, Adam fished popped up corn close to the island margins catching both his fish during the day.

Another stonking big mirror was landed by Justin Irving who fished swim 14 on the back bank. Fishing to the left of the island, Justin bucked the trend choosing to fish Fusion boilies over a few free offerings catching his fish at night.

Bury Hill bailiff Lee Bacon was another angler to strike it lucky over the weekend catching his first ever Temple thirty and a new PB in the shape of a stunning 35lb mirror known as “Robin Hood”. Fishing the back bank on swim 10, Lee fished popped up red and yellow corn tight to the island margins catching in full sun during the afternoon.
Temple regular Roy Carslake also did well catching a 33lb 8oz mirror from swim 13, Roy also chose to fish popped up corn but not to the island margins as most do, but to the open water over a few pellet.

Also bagging a 33lb 8oz mirror this week was Paul Hust. Fishing swim 12, Paul fished plastic corn on the hook over a bed of corn and pellet half to the island hooking his fish at just past midnight.

Another angler to score a thirty was Temple regular Paul Pitchley who caught a cracking 32lb 8oz common. Fishing swim 10, Paul fished popped up corn catching his fish during the night from close to the margins.
