Catch report by Marlene Mc Laughlin for week ending 5th June, 2011

Anglers were very excited about using dries this weekend as it indicated a slight hint of summer.  Using the black gnat Jim Russell, Danny Walker and Alan Rodger (Monkstown) bagged seven in total and released another ten trout back into the lake.  Jim had a big one at 5lb and two others which weighed almost the 4lb.  Danny had two at 4lb and Alan’s was something similar.  Young Shane Irwin (Dungiven) released two trout which fell to green spiders and black spiders.  Dungiven’s John Hasson released four trout which took the f-fly while Martin Bradley also from Dungiven released four too which took a white suspender.  Gulladuff’s Shaune Duggan took one home and released one which took a wee dry.  Paul Cox (Shrewsbury, England) released two which took an olive suspender buzzer.  Joe Linton (Limavady) and Andrew Doey (Limavady) bagged one and lost three respectively.  Joe trout was near the 2lb mark and was caught on an orange/white cat’s whisker.
