Catch report by Marlene Mc Laughlin

With the pleasant spring sunshine anglers are keen to give Cashel a throw this weekend. 

Don Mc Closkey, Adrian Guy and Willie Lowry (Limavady) banked a total of nine trout using nymphs and wee goldheads.  Adrian two fish for home weighed 7lb 10ozs while Willie and Don’s trout weighed an average of 2lb.  Campsie’s John Hall released an amazing fourteen trout which took the red octopus bloodworm.  Draperstown’s Michael O’Hagan managed one trout weighing 3lb while Tony Armstrong (Magherafelt) bagged two and released two which took green/white cat’s whiskers.  His two trout for home weighed 4lb 7ozs.  Bernard Mellon (Maghera) released seven trout in a while of an afternoon using assorted buzzers while Robert Connelly released two in a couple of hours.  Kevin Burke (Claudy) released four trout while Billy Hazlett (Derry) hooked one of 6lb on a white humungus.  Jimmy Norton (Maghera) bagged two for home at 1lb 11ozs and 3lb 8ozs which fell to a yellow and green fritz.

Breakfast is now being served at Cashel in the comfort of an open log fire with plenty of craic.
