Weekly report by Marlene Mc Laughlin

What a pleasant weekend encouraging anglers to come out to give Cashel a throw.  Local anglers, Johnny and Leo Kealey bagged five trout between them weighing a total of 9lb 11ozs which fell to the bibio and the wickham’s fancy.  Billy Stevenson and Simon Walker (England) banked four and five respectively using assorted buzzers and dries.  Billy took two for tea which weighed 3lb 5ozs which Simon averaged 2.5lb.  Derry’s James Mc Feely bagged three at 6lb 5ozs which took a very small klinkhammer.  Paul Ford also from Derry released four good trout which took suspender buzzers.  Dungiven’s Martin Bradley and John Hasson released five and two respectively with young Andrew Logan also from Dungiven releasing three trout which took small fritz flies.  Billy Hazlett and Alan Temple (Derry) had a very good day using sedge flies banking a total of eight trout with Billy trout for home weighing 3.5lb.  Damien Doherty and Peter Mc Brien (Belfast) bagged two averaging 3lb and unfortunately lost one which took a wee glow-body damsel.

Well done to all!
