Weekly report by Marlene Mc Laughlin

Beautiful weather gives anglers a pleasant time at Cashel with plenty of good catches.  Using black and olive buzzers and assorted lures Maghera’s Bernard Mellon released an amazing twenty-one trout back into the lake again.  James Kelly (Feeny) banked eight trout taking two home which weighed 5lb 12ozs.  He was using a black/green fritz.  Dungiven’s John Hasson released seven trout which took the f-fly, suspender buzzers and olive damsels.  Martin Bradley (Dungiven) also released seven trout which fell to hare’s ear nymphs.  Martin Mc Peake (Portglenone) and Barry Convery (Maghera) banked three trout in total taking two home which weighed a total of 4lb 10ozs.  They fell to a muddler and a white leadhead.

River Licences are also on sale here.

Breakfast is now being served at Cashel in the comfort of an open log fire with plenty of craic.

We are now taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day.  Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.  Info and enquiries to Marlene at 17 Birren Road, Dungiven, Co L’Derry, BT47 4SH, Tel: 02877742159, email:casheltrout@hotmail.com, www.cashellakeview.com.
