Catch report by Marlene Mc Laughlin for week ending 6th January, 2013

Another weekend of beautiful mild weather encourages anglers to give Cashel a throw for a big beauty which have been rising to the surface quite frequently in recent weeks.

Dungiven’s Andrew Logan and Ben Beresford (Ballykelly) did exceptionally well releasing six and killing two between them using a natural zonker and a black and yellow fritz.  Andrew had one big on at 7lb 10ozs and one at 2lb 2ozs while Ben had one a 6lb 11ozs and one at 3lb 14ozs.

Martin Bradley (Dungiven) released three on a black zonker.

Marcus Moore released four on a green/black lure while Brian O’Kane and Kevin Mc Callion weren’t lucky in getting their trout to the bank.

Conor Quigg (Dungiven) released six trout which took a tadpole.  Willie Kearney (Swatragh) released one which took a small green lure while Feeny’s Barry Hasson released three which were caught on a lime green fritz.
