It’s that time again when Discovery Real Time starts packing its schedule full of fantastic fishing programmes. Please find below some brief details on the new forthcoming series for September and October – more shows to come November onwards!
FISHING ROAD TRIP USA
UK Premiere
Friday 15th September, 10pm
Fishing favourite Paul Young is back with some brand new angling action as he makes his way across America, checking out the most outstanding places to land the biggest and best fish along the way. Each episode links one state to another as Paul continues south, down the eastern side of the USA from Maine to Miami. Paul also chats to local fishing experts, picking up hints and tips and getting the inside info on what makes their favourite fishing spots so special. Each location brings a different and exciting species, including American shad fallfish from Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire; striped bass and bluefish at Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts; Manhattan stripers and blue shark from the Hudson in New York State; and cutthroat trout and fantail darter from rivers of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia. Fishing Trip USA is essential viewing for both fishing fans and enthusiastic travellers alike.
John Wilson’s Dream Fishing

Recently voted Britain’s top angler by the Angling Times, John Wilson presents this spectacular new series on Discovery Real Time. John Wilson’s Dream Fishing, sees him tackle some of the most demanding species and features the most stunning wild locations, mostly in the British Isles, but also abroad. The series features some of the most inspirational and beautiful big-fish places that John has ever visited with many of them being where his fishing aspirations become reality. The species that have been picked at the locations provide exceptional sport but at the same time, have not been over-exposed and many have not featured on television before. John gives viewers a great insight into each of the varieties he fishes for and helps the audience to improve their own technique by understanding how the fish interact with their environment.
