Anglers fishing under the Halifax banner had triple cause for celebration this week after landing a five figure sponsorship deal with Italian tackle giant Trabucco, its UK distributor Belstane and ROK footwear.
The deal sees the team kitted out with luggage and a range of Trabucco clothing including its new breathable jackets and bib and braces. Squad members also get to wear ROK’s revolutionary new neoprene boots.
Halifax has been associated with Trabucco for 15 years, during which time it became a consistent top ten performer at national championship level. After a blip on the Trent two years ago it bounced back winning promotion at the first attempt on the Basingstoke Canal in 2011.
“We have had nothing but encouragement from the top down at Belstane since we explored the possibilities of sponsorship with them. And for ROK to come in and give the lads a set of its new boots is more than we could have hoped for,” said Halifax squad captain Tim Worsnop.
“For businesses like these to back a group of anglers in this way is pretty uncommon these days, especially given the state of the national economy.
“We are determined to repay their belief in us,” he added. “Trabucco is an excellent brand and what can you say about the man at the top. Roberto is one of the best anglers ever.”
