Lucy BowdenLucy is very excited to have achieved her Level 2 CC Game Angling Coaching Qualification and said;
“I am so proud of what I have achieved through taking this qualification. I have never rated myself as the best angler in the world but I love to teach angling and pass on my knowledge to others.

“Angling is one of the best hobbies in the world, and one that anyone can do, and I hope that with my help and support and that of countless others, more and more people will take up this fantastic sport.”

Although initially the aim of Lucy’s Level 2 achievement will enable her to focus more on coaching within the Club environment and the School- Club links programme the Club are getting involved with, Lucy does hope to offer one-to-one angling instruction for those who would like it.

Ben Thompson from the Angling Development Board said;
“Lucy has been fantastic for women’s angling in the North East and further afield and her recent success in her quest to become a Level 2 Angling Coach just rewards her for all her hard work.

“Lucy has worked tirelessly to ensure the Club has Level 1 and 2 Qualified Coaches and that other volunteers have undertaken relevant training to ensure a safe and quality environment and, in addition to the regular events and activities offered, Lucy is working with local schools to offer young females opportunities to participate in angling.

“Lucy’s passion and commitment will ensure that the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club will continue to develop and be successful and she has the full support of the Angling Development Board.”

Lucy joins a minority of female coaches in the UK. It is one of the aims of the Angling Development Board to increase this participation.
