Dave Woodcock from Wootton Bedford fished at Beckerings Reservoir near Flitwick Beds and caught a 25lb 4oz Mirror Carp at 9pm. Successful bait was Matt Hayes Crunch Boilies fished close to the overhanging willows.

Richard EmmersonRichard Emmerson from Houghton Regis fished the first day of the new river season at Lavendon Mill Beds. Richard fished very close in under an overhanging tree and caught two tench of 4lb 12oz and 5lb 8oz both caught on a ball of maggots mounted on a maggot clip fished alongside small pva bags of maggots.

Bailiff Richard Whiteman fished the Grand Union Canal near his Leighton Buzzard home and caught a 21lb Mirror Carp using a  CC Moores Odyssey XXX boilie tipped with a piece of fake corn.

Alec Sharp was again at the Golf Range section of the canal catching a succession of bream to 3lb and some decent perch on feeder fished maggot.

Mr Cawdell from Luton Beds fished at the Stoke Hammond Layby and caught quality roach and skimmers throughout his morning session fishing double maggot.

At North House Lake on the Wyboston Complex near St Neots fishing has been slow this week with Nick Crisp catching the best fish of the week a 25lb Common Carp. H Millier had a 15lb Common Carp, Richard Swan had an 18lb Mirror Carp on bread off the top and Mark Farrell had two Common Carp to 15lb. Tench and bream are also being caught.

Luton AC’s new Woodlands Lake on the Tingrith Complex continues to produce large catches of bream & tench along with many single figure carp which can be easily caught on surface fished baits.

Eastern Enfield Anglers match group fished at the Golf range section of the Grand Union Canal:
1st M Barbat 29lb 5oz – 4 carp to 8lb plus a 1lb 12oz perch all caught on maggot.
2nd L Berry 8lb – 2 bream
3rd B Lawrence 5lb 5oz – skimmers

Luton AC represents excellent value for money as ALL of their stillwaters are open for a full 12 months and there is no premium for night fishing.

The new river season opened on 16th June 2009 and through a water share arrangement with Barnet Angling Club Luton AC members may also fish several additional stretches (not listed in the membership book) of the River Great Ouse, River Ivel and River Thames, maps that show parking areas etc are available to download from the club web site or by sending a request with an A5 sae (large size stamp please) to the club office. These waters offer excellent fishing for Barbel, tench, bream and carp.
