23rd November, 2009 – for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area

Mark Simmonds & James Bishop fished the South Lagoon on the Wyboston Complex catching three Zander between 7lb and 7.5lb plus a 12lb pike.

Chris Bartlett was on the nearby North House Lake and landed two commons of 22lb and 13lb on home made marmite and sour cream boilies.

At Beckerings Reservoir near Flitwick Phil Randall caught a 19lb 6oz common, a low double common and mirrors of 18lb 6oz and 15lb 8oz. Brett Herdman and Joanne Edwards also fished the reservoir and landed a 23lb 2oz mirror an 11lb common plus a couple of 6-7lb bream.

The best catch of the week at Beckerings was to Bruce Starling who on his first session there tempted mirrors of 26lb 8oz, 18lb 11oz and a 16lb 6oz common. Bruce tells me that the largest mirror came immediately after the common and before he had chance to set the bobbin. All were caught on Active Bait Solutions Enzyme Boilies.

Dave FarmerDave Murdoch snr, Dave Farmer and Fergal O’Kane fished the Grand Union Canal catching some nice perch up to 2lb.

Woodlands Lake continues to produce with plenty of carp, tench and bream falling to meat, pellet and maggot tactics. The bailiff recommends varying the depth until the fish are found and feed on a little and often basis. Kevin Chadfield fished with maggot and corn feeding pellets and maggot every put in and was rewarded with 4 tench to over 4lb, 3 bream and some roach and rudd. The bailiff asks that if anyone notices herons or cormorants on the adjacent Barretts Mere could they shoo them away as potentially alot of the stock fish could be lost.

2nd Tony Parker 2lb 7oz permanent peg 1 – bleak & dace
