General

Tuesday Lee Mitchinson from Chester le Street fishing 4.5 hours on Lookout had an amazing session on Pellet waggler using 8 mm pellets up in the water caught 50 carp to 6lb, his quote on a text is’ Ann the Angel never fails to amaze me, 4.5 hours of awesome fishing in mid Nov, fished pellet waggler to island, peg 24 Lookout, 50 carp to 6lb many thanks Lee’   Ricky went and sat with him and observed as his catch rate really was awesome and in 2 ft of water, all told he had to have had over 200lb in November!

The match weight record on Lookout also got beaten this week well done to Derick Fox on this achievement with 112lb 1oz in five hours.

Some torrential rain and some high winds this week making has made anglers really have to use watercraft to work out where the shoals of fish are,. Though from catch rates and observations they still appear quiet tight into margins.

Lookout

Lake records of weight of fish caught has been broken this week which is excellent considering its late Nov, pleasure anglers also getting some high catch rates also.Fish are shoaling and still moving around, so you can get them to move into your fishing peg if you are patient and work at getting them to move and stay in your swim.

Fish are feeding well knowing the harsh winter conditions are around the corner, get feed patterns correct and you will be well rewarded,  All species including Great carp (avarage 5lb), tench (to 7lb 4oz), crucians and silvers inc big bream still being caught.

Best baits on the hook have been soft hooker pellet, maggot, conker still working (pellet covered in paste, normally made from angels pellets), worm, worm cocktail,  feed small amounts of angel pellets, mix with boiled hemp and crushed casters to get great catches.

Best methods have been pole, bomb, feeder, and waggler even pellet waggler is still working.

Bowes

Some excellent numbers of fish out with Alan Trent from Newcastle fishing banded 6mm angel red pellets took 56 carp on peg 23 fishing between islands on bomb with a pva bag full of 3mm angel pellets. Depending on conditions and wind direction the carp are following the S and W winds and silvers also. Carp are still feeding well however don’t overfeed but in 7.2 deg water temp they are still feeing up for winter as Brian Hall found out, when  he had to keep feed going in to continue to get catches and keep shoals in  front of him. Pellet waggler still working and bomb to islands with soft hookers and even conker has worked. Maggot feeder and multiple maggots on hook now also working well. Best carp out was a 25lb 2oz common on conker using a power waggler on peg 1 to the right.

Bassetts

Even in high winds this pond has kept very sheltered allowing pleasure anglers some good sport as all species are still feeding and some good cath rates have been obtained on pole and waggler.

Good pellet and maggot pond, but don’t over feed, patience is the order of the day to get fish to your swim in November, feed very little and you will be rewarded especially as the day goes into late afternoon when the fish switch on to feed.

Coaching is one to one through winter please phone to book.

Matches are only Sunday and Wed now as the draw needs to be pulled to 9am to ensure fishing is from 10 to 3pm to enable weigh in to be done with some light, as its dark at 4pm.
