Recently, using luncheon meat out near one of our aerators in the Main Lake, Mike Evans from Newtown caught the biggest Carp so far this year, a superb 25lb Mirror. Many other “double figure” Carp have been caught in recent weeks using slices of Sausage very close in the margins, washed Campbell Meatballs and as always luncheon Meat or Sweet corn.

Floating bread from afternoons into the evening have produced superb sport. Many night Anglers have reported catching up to 60 Carp in a session with most around the 6lb mark. The best times being 1 hour after dusk and from 5am. Several good Tench to 4lb have been landed with Lee Whitfield of Llanarth catching a 3 1/2lb’er on luncheon meat. The deep “house” pool has produced some good fish to the patient angler with the best in recent weeks being a 3lb Roach and 6lb Tench. Meanwhile, the Novices pool has produced some fine fish for the first time angler and good sport for the regulars topped by a Carp known as “Pebbles” at 8lb.

With the hot, dry weather Trout Fishing has been very hard with many
fish cruising around frustrating those brave enough to try for them.

Nine Oaks Fisheries runs its first Corporate Fishing evening.

Following an incognito visit to Nineoaks fishery, John Patterson of Patterson Legal Services in Aberaeron, concluded that the facilities, layout and services were just what he wanted to impress some of his larger clients from around England and Wales. John had previously had a social day Mackerel Fishing but not everyone he wanted, wanted to attend; so he was looking for something better and more acceptable to his clients.

Nineoaks provided his firm with Marquee facilities, superb PAA Coaching from several coaches and fishing on their Trout and Coarse Lakes:-.

Accompanying children were catered for separately,
Personal casting tuition for Fly casting,
Personal tuition on Coarse fishing,
All fishing rods and safety equipment,
Marquee facilities,
Plenty of encouragement and enthusiasm.

They all tried and enjoyed both sports which some had thought about but were afraid of trying. At the end of the evening with us they all left, in John’s own words “buzzing”, having had a thoroughly enjoyable experience, catching fish and “networking” together. Meanwhile John was able to impress his clients with a well organised event and getting them to network, which was what he had hoped for. Since the event The feedback has been excellent from everyone who was invited and all enjoyed the evening very much.

That’s it for the moment, and don’t forget we are part of the amazing 10k Tags Competition – more details at: http://www.10ktags.co.uk
