Catch Reports

6 June 2009
Martin Sutton fished the Bottom lake at Moor Farm on the 6th June and sends the below report;

I fished the Bottom Lake at Moor Farm yesterday and had a very successful session.  The weather was overcast with light rain for most of the morning but the lake water temperature was quite high.  It would seem that the fish are back on the feed after their recent spawning session and making up for lost meals.  I fished peg 1 using a Method feeder on one rod, with small halibut pellets, and a small ledgered bait of soft meat paste pellets on the other.  The catch comprised Roach, a couple of Tench to 1lb 4ozs and 13 Common Carp weighing between 1lb and 4lbs.  The majority of the fish fell to the Method which was working very well indeed.  The total catch weight was in the order of 40lbs.

Steve & Verity Ludlow made a welcome return to the bank after their winter break on the 2 June, the duo fished Deep Lake at Goose Green with waggler fished corn for a shedful of small Tench & Roach.

2 June 2009
Simon Parker (Snr) send us this report;

After my first fish with the society on the 22nd May on Heron Lake at Goose Green, which was a good short session, I travelled to the Middle Lake  at Moor Farm on Sunday 31st May, after a long day with nothing much happening on the ledger, I started surface fishing with bread, only to have a bit of interest but missing every little chance that did come, however at around 4:00pm, my bread disappeared from the surface only to produce a definite take and after around 10-15 minutes I landed my first double weighing in at 16Ib 13oz.

No matter that the day had very little action this catch made my day.

23 May 2009
Martin Sutton fished the bottom lake at Moor Farm on the 23rd May, Martin ledgering close in to the nearside bank caught a Common carp of 8-10-0 on pellet, Martin also had a number of other knocks on his ledgered baits, but no definitive takes.

22 May 2009
New member Simon Parker (Snr), not to be confused with our junior member of the same name,  having just joined the Society travelled straight up to Goose Green on the 22nd May, Simon fishing on Heron Lake soon had loads of interest from the fish and his short evening session resulted in two Carp, one of 7-11-0 the other of 8-7-0, both fish fell to pellet/sweetcorn.

15 May 2009
Jon Taylor fished Kingfisher Lake at Goose Green on Friday 15th May, Jon started with a 5 elastic to 2.8.0 line and a size 16 hook, using pellets & corn, Jon caught small Tench, Crucians, Skimmers & Roach, plus three Bream to 3-0-0.
