Wednesday 11th July, 2012 – 72 Fished

REPORT BY
TOM SCHOLEY

With the river level almost back to normal following the recent rain, but still plenty of colour in the water, anglers were faced with perfect fishing conditions for this midweek afternoon contest – and for once it wasn’t raining!

Drawn on peg 40, Clive Roberts fished a groundbait feeder down the middle of the river switching between worm and maggots on the hook to take a fine 18-11-8 winning net. Clive caught a 6lb bream, and a host of quality skimmers and pommys for his weight.

In second place was Sensas ace Matt Godfrey. Drawn on unfancied peg 78, Matt cupped in ten balls of groundbait, and fished single maggot and double pinkie hookbaits over the top. He caught 31 hybrids, and a bonus chub to make up his 11-0-8 net.

In third place from peg 35 was Howard Kaye. Howard fished bomb and luncheon meat tight under the far bank to take a 10-15-0 bag of chub.
