PROFESSOR DAVID BELLAMY TO ATTEND PRODUCT LAUNCH

At 11 a.m. Saturday 28th April 2007 ADAM BINDER EDITIONS of Cirencester, a leading collectibles company, are releasing a timed edition piece entitled “Spawn Free” to help raise funds for TROUT IN THE CLASSROOM UK.

The launch is to be held at the collectibles emporium “The Clothes Rail”, Whimsy House, 8 Worcester Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire where Professor Bellamy and Adam Binder are to be joined by members of the England Ladies Fly Fishing Team and Allan Suttie, originator of Trout in the Classroom UK.  

Trout in the Classroom UK is an award winning educational programme used by Primary Schools throughout the UK and is based upon the development of native Brown Trout, reared in micro hatcheries within a school, and released in to that school’s local river.

The timed edition piece is a cold cast bronze depicting two rising trout.  To assist in raising funds for Trout in the Classroom UK Adam Binder Editions are also releasing for the day a special limited edition palm charm piece which will be only available to launch attendees.  

Allan Suttie said “Our unique project work in schools throughout the country is valued by children and teachers alike.  It is a highly successful way of reconnecting young people with their rivers. Every year we have to battle to raise additional funding to ensure that we cam keep up with the demand for our project.  This crucial work can only survive given the support of others.   I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adam Binder, and Karen and Anita from “The Clothes Rail” for their generous support.

Karen Phillips and Anita Mears, the proprietors of The Clothes Rail are delighted that Adam Binder has supported this cause and are so taken themselves by the Trout in the Classroom concept that anyone one ordering any item of their stock “on line” and indicating they wish to support the project will lead to 10% of the value of the order being donated to Trout in the Classroom UK.   

Anita said “We are thrilled to be involved in such a worthwhile cause and are very much looking forward to meeting David Bellamy and the Ladies of the English Fly Fishing Team.  We hope that many people will visit us during the day and meet David Bellamy, Adam Binder, Allan Suttie and their team of supporters.  I am certain that there will be stories of a few that got away and various discussions about angling and fish.  It could be a totally different day to anything we’ve hosted in the Clothes Rail before.

Adam Binder who is well known to collectors for his animal themed sculptures and has a large following in both the UK and the United States said “I was delighted to be approached and asked to design a charity piece for Trout in the Classroom UK.  Much of my inspiration comes from watching wildlife and to be able to help raise funds for this project by creating something unique will, I hope, allow many more schools being able to participate.  Having created the prototype of the piece, which is of two rising trout turning together, we ran a competition amongst our collectors to name the piece and received a lot of suggestions, the most apt being “Spawn Free”.  
I am hoping that we can raise sufficient funds for the Trout in the Classroom Project that local primary schools both in Cirencester and Bromsgrove will benefit from our efforts”.

Professor David Bellamy, president of Trout in the Classroom UK, said “The importance of our rivers and their ecology cannot be over stated, we need to ensure their future wellbeing for every ones benefit.  The Trout in the Classroom UK project brings that ecology into the schools in a way that not only educates but captivates the young people involved in it.   We have over 30 micro hatcheries established in primary schools throughout the UK and hope to have many more in the future.  I appreciate the support given by Adam Binder Editions and the ladies of “The Clothes Rail” and I am delighted to be at the launch at their shop.  Now that businesses are becoming more environmentally aware I am sure that the example being set by both Adam Binder Editions and “The Clothes Rail” to assist in such projects will continue to grow”.
