Bait-Tech and Frenzee Consultant Steve Barraclough is certainly the man to watch at the moment. Steve who is in blistering form started a big list of wins at Lindholme lakes culminating in a golden peg win worth over £500. All this in the lead up to the Lindholme festival paid dividends for the 27 year old as he then used this recent form to go on and win the Festival there. With a couple of grand now in his pocket he turned his attentions to the fabulous Hallcroft fishery for the Maver Match This qualifier. Hallcroft is a favourite of Steve’s and somewhere he has honed his meat shallow approach to perfection. This was quite evident again last Saturday as he yet again won the 90 peg match with a colossal 240lb and secured a place for the 2nd year running in the big 50K event.
Steve said: “What an unbelievable few weeks, I’m buzzing at the moment! To come here to Hallcroft and win the qualifier again to make it 2 from 2 is a bit of a dream, it seems lightening does strike twice! I drew a decent area and knew I’d have a chance. Because of this I fished super positive and fed and fished Bait-Tech N-Tice Polony shallow on long pole then came down the edge in the last hour to snare a few big uns on worms fished over Karma groundbait! It really has topped off a fantastic few weeks for me and I can’t wait to get to Larford to start practicing for what could be the payday of a lifetime.”
