Sunday July 5th – Warwickshire Avon – Evesham Town Waters and Hampton Ferry – 45 pegs

Long journey pays off for Graham

The third Abu Garcia Wychavon Championship qualifier proved fruitful for Wrexham visitor Graham Thomas who took full advantage of favoured Peg 1 at the top of the Town Waters to run out winner with 6-11-0.
Fishing with chopped worm and caster close in Graham landed one decent tench plus eels and perch to secure his place in the star studded final on August 30th and a shot at the £3,500 to prize.
Former Shakespeare champion Charlie Hague took runner up spot this time with another big tench plus a few small perch at Peg 16, also on pole fished worm.
Third spot went to Mark Newman from Worcester with a pole and worm caught 4-11-0 of eels, perch and chub from Peg 6, ahead of Richard Hall at downstream Peg 70 who landed 3-11-0 of eels. Fifth place went to Rob South with 3-7-8 of eels and perch from Peg 55.
