The fishery continues to be ice-free due to the ice prevention wave machines and is open 7 days per week.
The increased stocking program continues for the start of the year.
A great week for fishing and sport at Wellsfield with many anglers bagging their fish limits using fly and bait techniques.  
Many 4-5lb trout caught this week. Average weight was 3lb 2oz.
Club and corporate day bookings are now being taken for 2009 season.

ONE troutmasters specimen was caught this week: A 9lb 12oz rainbow by Mr Johnstone (Falkirk) using maggots in his 3 for 16lb.

One £50 Prize Yellow Tagged Trout was caught this week by lucky angler Mr Edwards (Stirling) mid-week in his bag of 4 trout for 13lb using lures.

Best flies this week: Yellow Dancer, Ace of Spades, Fritz Nobblers, Black Buzzers, Damsel.
Best bait: Powerbait, Maggots and Spinners.
