The Wellsfield Flymasters 2011 Fishing Competition was won by I Skilling (Shotts) on Saturday winning him £100 cash.
Another good week for fishing sport. Many anglers were rewarded and plenty of fish were being caught in all three ponds. Most of the week the fish were around 2 to 4 feet deep taking a variety of lures, flies and nymphs. Rainbows, Blues and Browns featured.
Best flies: Black Green Fritz, HH Damsel, Buzzers, Bloodworm, Traditional Wet Flies, PTN, Diawl Bachs. Best Baits: Maggots, Worms, Mepps Spinners.
Mr R Robertson (Falkirk) caught largest fish of the week – a 13lb Rainbow Trout in his basket of 3 for 19lb. J Davit (Stirling) caught a fine 11lb 8oz rainbow trout in his 4 for 21lb 8oz (see photo below).
