The trout fishery is now open late 7 days a week till 8pm for evening sessions.
Another excellent week for fishing at Wellsfield Fishery for fly and bait fishers. Many anglers bagged their fish limits with fish over the week. Over 400 trout were caught, average weight of 3lb and many fish in the 4lb – 12lb range, with rainbows, blues and brown trout featuring in the catch returns.
- Mr William Caddiss (Stirling) caught and landed the 2011 Fishery Record on Easter Sunday with a monster rainbow trout of 18lb 8oz. See photo below.
Five other doubles were caught including:
- W Sinclair (Glasgow) – 13lb rainbow trout
- A Gallagher (Kincardine) – 12lb rainbow trout
- D Kilpatrick (Denny) – 11lb rainbow trout
- I Wilkie (Bathgate) – 10lb rainbow trout
One £50 Red Tagged trout was caught this week by Mr Ritchie (Stirling) from the middle fly pond.

Best Baits: Maggot / Worm cocktail, Mepps Spinners.
