The increased stocking program continues for all the ponds at the moment.
The evening sessions are still ongoing and the fishery is open to 8.00pm, seven days a week.
The cooler weather has produced some great fishing and a good number of larger resident fish in the 5lb to 8lb range have featured amongst the catch returns. Again many anglers using the right fly or bait at the right time caught their fish limits.
Some fine Rainbows, Blues and Browns with an average weight of just over 3lb were caught with many in the 4lb –5lb range.
Fly fishermen found a floating or intermediate line with a cats whisker, mini lures, goldhead daddies and buzzers worked best. Bait anglers found powerbait, maggots and small spinners worked best.
Two doubles were caught this week, Mr McArthur (Laurieston) landed a 13lb rainbow from the top fly pond in his 4 for 21lb using lures, and Mr McGlinn (Bathgate) landed a fine 11lb rainbow from the bait pond using maggots in his 3 for 15lb 4oz.
Mr L McGeorge (Glasgow) landed a fine 9lb rainbow on Sunday in his 3 for 14lb.
Mr G Young (Falkirk) landed a crackinng 8lb 12oz rainbow on Friday.
One Yellow Prize Tagged Trout was caught this week by lucky angler Mr O’Rourke (Falkirk) from the bait pond winning him £50.
