With the summer holidays starting the fisher is offering Discounted Parent & Child and Junior Fishing Permits. 2hr/2 fish, 4hr/4fish Parent & Child and 2/4 fish Junior Permits are available.
Again over 400 trout were caught over the course of the week featuring Rainbows and Blue Trout and Brown Trout, average weight of 3lb 2oz with many in the 4lb – 6lb range.
Two double figure trout were caught this week: Mr McGeorge (Camelon) landed a fine 12lb rainbow in his 5 for 24lb 5oz using buzzers. Mr Inglis (Larbert) caught a fine 12lb rainbow using a mep spinner from the bait pond in his 4 for 19lb.
One Yellow £50 Prize Tagged 4lb Trout was caught from the bait pond by Mr Allison (Airth) using maggots.
Fly fishers are finding a floating line worked best with buzzers, diawl bachs and mini-lures. Bait anglers found spinners, powerbait and tiny spinners worked best.
