All three ponds are fishing very well at the moment for both fly and bait anglers. The average catch was 3 fish per angler this week, average weight 3lb. Some fine Rainbows, Blues and Browns were caught. The larger fish were found to be feeding deeper.
Fly fishermen found a floating or intermediate line with a cats whisker, mini lures, goldhead daddies and buzzers worked best. Bait anglers found powerbait, maggots and small spinners worked best.
One Yellow Prize Tagged Trout was caught this week by lucky angler Mr Donaldson (Grangemouth) from the bait pond winning him £50.
Two doubles were caught this week, Mr Bennett (Airdrie) landed a fine 10lb 8oz rainbow in his 3 doe 16lb on Sunday using fly. Mr Maxwell (Dunipace) landed a fine 11lb rainbow on Saturday using fly in his 3 for 18lb.
