Four fish per rod was the average rod catch for this week. The average trout size was 3lb 3oz, with many fish in the 4lb – 6lb range caught on both fly and bait.
The newly extended 5-acre top fly only lochan and the 4 acre fly only lochan are producing some great rises of rainbows, blues and brownies for top of water sport using buzzers, nymphs and small lures. The 3-acre bait pond is also fishing really well with bait and spinners.
Two specimens were caught this week – T Petrie (Falkirk) landed a cracking 12lb rainbow using a Diawl Bach in his 3 for 19lb and A King (Bannockburn) landed a cracking 9lb 12oz rainbow in his 4 for 18lb 12oz using Mepps.
