The increased stocking program has started for 2008 and all three lochans are fishing very well for both fly and bait anglers with rainbows and blue trout featuring amongst the catches. The average trout weight was 3lb with 3 trout per angler on average.
All anglers should note that club bookings are now being taken for 2008 season. The fishery is open for fly and bait fishing 7 days per week from 8am till 5pm.
Best flies this week: Green Damsel, Silver Humungus, Spanflex Bloodworm, Cats Whisker, Buzzers. Best bait: Powerbait, Spinners and Maggots.
Two specimen trout were caught this week.
Mr Miller (Falkirk) landed 5 for 16lb 8oz, best a 7lb rainbow. Mr Laidlaw (Larbert) also landed a cracking 10lb rainbow trout in his 4 for 18lb from the bait pond using powerbait and maggots
One Yellow Prize Tagged Trout was caught this week from the middle fly pond by lucky angler Mr Soutar (Motherwell) using fly winning him £50.
