News release From Winnerweb

Hywel Morgan recently met with Winnerweb Ltd at Heathrow airport to choose the winners of its online ‘Spot the Ball’ competition, whose prize was entry in to the Winnerweb Challenge 2009.  The strange choice of location was to due to the fact that Hywel was about to fly out to Norway for a fly-fishing Expo.

Under rigorous competition and gaming rules and in the presence of Simon Williams, a solicitor from Morrison & Foerster, Hywel chose the position where he believed the ball to be.

The six winners were all notified by Winnerweb Ltd at the end of April and got to choose the venue of their preference of the three heat fisheries.

Saturday 23rd May 09 – Blithfield (10am – 6pm)
Sunday 24th May 09 – Stocks (10am – 6pm)
Sunday 31st May – Elinor (10am – 6pm)

Hywel Morgan said. “What’s fantastic is that one of these six people could go on to win one of the heats and bag £300 and even better if they get to the final and win the £2000.  What I like about this competition is that it is extending opportunities to anglers in a variety of exciting ways to get involved in the greatest sport on earth.”

The six winners, Kasper Sorensen, Liz Astil, William Bunch, Brian Whyman, Geoff Pittham and Mark Anderson will now go forward to the heats in May to take part in the first Winnerweb Challenge. The final of the Winnerweb Challenge will take place at Toft Newton on Saturday 4th July, 2009.

Entry fee to the competition can be purchased at the fisheries or online at www.winnerwebchallenge.com or by phoning Anne Haimes on 07912 266000.
