I’ve been giving this rig case some serious hammering since April of this year – and I’ve got to say that I think it’s one of the best pieces of kit I’ve come across in a long, long, time.
Basically, I’m using it as my tackle box and it’s fantastic – there’s loads of space, pockets galore, and it’s very lightweight and compact.
The wallet measures ten inches in length, seven and a half inches in width, and it’s about three inches deep. It has a heavy-duty double zip running around three sides, and once opened out gives easy access to ten PVC rig sleeves, which are detachable from the metal ring binder-style clasp.
There are also mesh pockets on each inside cover with overlapping Velcro tabs, which will accommodate a hefty amount of kit, and whilst the wallet comes with ten sleeves, I’ve been able to get all the kit I need into just three!
One sleeve takes all my hooks, swivels, and general rig components; the second takes my permits and marker floats, with the third taking three Fox swingers.
The mesh pockets are great, in one I keep all my hook link materials, weights, and braids, and the other takes all my baiting up kit and general accessories; scissors, pliers, PVA bags & tape, candles, thermometer – everything bar the kitchen sink really!
It’s been in and out of my bag hundreds of times now, and over the past months it’s had a fair amount of abuse, yet it still looks brand new – possibly due to the heavy-duty fabric it’s made from.
Like much of the Fishrite kit I’ve been using through the year, I can find nothing to fault it. What’s more, two of my angling companions have been out and purchased this case in recent months after seeing mine, testament to it’s quality I think.
Having a piece of kit like this is never going to put you more fish on the bank, yet I honestly feel my fishing’s been made much easier through the use of lightweight tackle such as this. Because it’s not huge and bulky, it doesn’t get shoved under the bedchair out of the way, so it’s always on hand when I need it.
At £14.99 I think it’s a steal – and I wouldn’t have my old tackle box back if you paid me!
