A treat for your feet!

Before anyone starts, no I wouldn’t normally pay £28 for a pair of socks (in fact, you can get Perilla Alpaca socks for less than that – these particular ones are £28.60), but I’m writing this at a time of year when people are starting to think of Christmas and, maybe, something a little ‘different’ and, dare I say it, ‘luxurious’.

And Alpaca wool is definitely both of those.

Perilla Alpaca Wool SocksThese Alpaca Country Socks are made from a blend of 75% Alpaca Wool and 25% nylon, and I assume that the nylon is to give them stretch. They are comfortable beyond compare and feel so different to my ‘normal’ everyday socks. These are not mass produced in sweatshops abroad, but are made with pride in England and do involve a certain amount of human labour, but you certainly feel the benefit of that when you wear them.

Many anglers will be pleased to know that Alpaca wool is not only warm and light, due to its hollow fibres, but also self-cleaning to a degree, so wearing them for a few days will not result in a less comfortable sock….or a smelly one! I’m definitely taking mine next time I’m away in my bivvy.

These socks come in a wide range of colours and there are different styles available, too.

So, if you’re looking to buy yourself a treat, or searching for a luxury gift to surprise the angler in your life with, then take a look at http://perilla.co.uk/
