If, like me, you have a tendency to sit/stand/drive over sunglasses, then you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on a pair just for fishing!

If you don’t fish with polarised sunglasses, then you’re missing out on a whole new world. I was first advised to get a pair when I started lure fishing. They aren’t for the faint-hearted…I was suddenly able to see a lot deeper in the water and realised that you get a lot more ‘follows’ than you think!! Once your heart has stopped pounding and your brain can take over, these ‘follows’ can be turned into takes on many occasions.

Polarised Sunglasses from tacklebargains.co.ukUsing polarised sunglasses is also useful in just about every other facet of our sport – spotting feeding fish, snags or even protecting your own eyes (yes, your own health is as important as fishing!).

I used to get my polarised sunglasses from a local tackle shop, but then I moved and have clung onto the last pair I bought for ages.
It’s a question that Anglers’ Net often gets asked – “Where can I buy polarised sunglasses that don’t cost the earth?”

If you need prescription sunglasses, then you will have to pay a bit more, but if you don’t, then check out http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/

I was sent the ‘6606 Model’, which sell for just £9.99, and was suitably impressed. They are a snug fit (I usually go for ones with side ‘lenses’ to stop sunlight penetrating from the side, but these didn’t seem to need them) and come with a cord to stop you losing them! The frames are matt black nylon, which makes for a light pair of glasses. The lenses are scratch resistant, too, which is always a bonus.

Polarised Sunglasses from tacklebargains.co.ukThey do what they’re supposed to do, which is kind of important!! The first test was in the 4ft pond at home – might not sound very scientific, but if you haven’t used polarised glasses before, you’ll be amazed at the results! Second step was in the ‘wild’. Despite wearing a bright white shirt, I was able to avoid spooking fish by keeping well away from the bank. The 6606 glasses did the trick, allowing me to see just about everything! I’d normally recommend wearing something a little less conspicuous than a white top, though, but you know how it is – if you’re an angler and you see water, you just have to have a look!!

If you’re looking for a pair of glasses that won’t break the bank, then give http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/ a look. They do a range of other products, too, so you’re bound to enjoy your visit to their site.
