Affordable bankside bedding

If you are venturing out for a night session at this time of year, the one thing you want to be sure of is that you’ll be nice and warm tucked up in your sleeping bag. A bag that’s given me sterling service for some time now is the Trakker Big Snooze Plus.

To be honest, it’s pretty bombproof. I’m not one of those that strips it down each session, hangs it up to air and asks it if it’s got any issues it wants to discuss… it gets pretty abused. Between sessions it remains folded in the confines of my bedchair along with my bedchair cover, and that’s about it!

As such, its performance is all the more impressive, as it’s never let me down. I fish open fronted in my shelter throughout the year and have never yet had a cold nights sleep. As alluded to above, at this time of year, I’ll chuck my Trakker bedchair cover over the top, but even on its own during spring and autumn, it’s been fantastic, especially when you look at the price attached to some sleeping bags!

Trakker Big Snooze Plus Sleeping Bag

The latest version of this ever popular bag features a breathable rip stop construction and has a mobile phone and accessory pocket, which is handy for storing a few essentials out of sight. The quick release zips are just that, though I usually have mine unzipped all the way down one side to ensure I can get out quick when I need to – which again shows the thermal qualities of the warm fleece lining. The bedchair fixings are durable and robust, and still show no signs of wear on mine despite consistent use on two overnighters per week throughout the year, over three years use.
