  1. Am fishing the Wharfe next week at Wetherby, you hear lots of stories about what to use and where to fish but I wondered if anyone out there had some relevant advice about bait, Tackle, Method and location as I will only have I Day and do not wish to spend most of it realising I am in the wrong place or doing it wrong. Any suggestions :wallbash::help:

  2. As long as you glide ;) The last thing I need is another tidal wave on the banks!

    Nice one Mathew

I promise to be like Mohammed ALI - Float like a butterfly and sting like a Bee but without a ripple, from a slowly and considerately paddled canoe :yeah::fishing::boat::fishing1::bigemo_harabe_net-163: .

  3. These fish were caught At around 0430 I have just returned home from an all nighter.

The Barbel weighs in at 12lb the 2nd best by 1 oz of my fishing career which spans 45 years this really is a fish of a life time and I am so lucky to have caught 2 of such a great weight.

Well done MDG Jealosy reigns eh?

Tell us more, Method Bait Tackle Tactics ETC its great to share success and for the younger anglers to pass on tips from succesful anglers. :sun:;)

  4. Sounds like a lot of people who fish from a boat are breaking the rules, perhaps all!

    Hi Mathew

You are probably right about some people but not all, If I do use a boat to fish anywhere be that Windermere or the Ouse or even the Severn then part of the arrangements will be obtaining the correct permissions and licences for wherever I fish. That is a principle I would always endorse and follow.

Fishing a River from a Boat of any kind opens up so many more possibilities however I would allways give priority to any Bankside angler - its called respect.

I hope to glide past you one day.

    Steve

  5. I saw an episode of Wet Nets a few days ago where Mat & Mick were on a 2 day Canoe adventure on the Severn with a gillie catching Barbel. Does anyone know who operates these trips and how to contact them? All assistance greatfully received. Steve
