would that be the river lostockawaaar:
I had a good night, caught 16 Chub, biggest just over 4lbs, four Perch, biggest getting on for a pound, two Roach, two Dace, and a bloody big eel - 3lbs 4oz - from a river about 4m wide...
nice to be back on flowing water though
See how busy the Ribble is tomorrow...

does anyone fish the dock area at preston, I am interested to know if it worth a try
-
I caught several fish today that i did not recognise, they were very similar to chub but with a prominent lateral line towards the front and rounded dorsal fin. the scales also had a pearly shine to them. the eyes were black and the mouth was chub like.
It is possible that they were small chub but are not supposed to be any in the lake i was fishing.
I was wondering if they were ide as I have never seen one before and was hoping that someone may be able to provide a link to an ide picture
thanks

thanks jemJem:you will have to use dvd+r or +rw dvd's in that burner, if its a dual format burner i.e dvd+/- r/rw you could use either + or - format

I have a dvd burner which is dvd+rw format. can this be used to burn onto dvd-r(w) discs

try trolling a large lure slowly around the various rocky outcrops in the north basin, also fish close in

the one with honour blackman was the upper hand, not the best of comedies but nothing can be as bad as the Cr@p the yanks keep on churning out.

not sure what colour the eyes were. all the pictures of otters ive seen have an off white chest, the animal I saw was shiny chocolatly brown all over. I never saw it in the water. The time I saw it was about lunchtime, the animal didnt seem at all shy, As I walked over the boulders it ran to the opposite end of the boulders, and then the other way when I returned, I repeated this several times until I had got a good look at it and was convinced it was an otter but I must admit that looking at the above pics it prob looks more like a mink.
-
Had a walk along the ribble (church deeps) yesterday and spotted a mammal about the size of a cat it was a shiny chocolate brown colour all over, quite a wide face, (not weasel like). anyone suggest if it sounds like a mink or an otter? I got several closeup looks as it weaved in and out of the boulders below me.
-
please could someone give me directions to the section known as church deeps and where to get day / season tickets from.
cheers

Just be carefull using cigarette filters, If they come off the hook they can swell up inside the fish then effectively suffocate itmmc1:
Sliced cigarette filters look like bits of punched bread. A size 14 fly hook with the filter attatched will stay on the hook nice as you cast and any fish you can get feeding on bread you will catch this way.
