  1. Spyro,

I can only tell you about the X factor - The C.O.D. rudder kit comes with replacement sliding footrests, however to make them fit the X you would have to cut them down, so thanks to some advice from niko I simply used the ones already fitted to the X - they are much more substantial than the replacement ones anyway. To adjust the existing ones for length of your leg, they have a large locking pin that you turn, move the footpeg to suit & then re-engage the pin to lock them off. If you dismantle them and remove the 'pin' then the existing ones are able to slide & can be used with the rudder.

When you are using them, its hard to explain but the opposite foot provides resistance to push against as you paddle

    Cheers

    Karl

Cheers Karl i think i've got the idea

  2. KK , Please could you let me know how the foot rest's work in conjunction with the rudder.

I thought the foot rest's wouldnt move ,so you have something solid to push against.

    Thanks

    Spyro.

  3. just wondering after looking at the ocean kayak manual (sad i know ) . it recomends storing upside down

well mine is in the garage right way up on a shelf with dense foam under and wedges loosely placed to keep upright and fully supported the whole length .

am i doing it wrong ?????. how do you store yours ? not where , just right way up ,sideways or upside down

I keep mine upside down (i also read the manual)

But i'm not aloud to bring it to bed with me, wife get's ever so jea  lous

  4. The only difference between the green and orange C Tug is the graphics on the strap. Its changed form “C tug” to “Johnsons Outdoors” apart form that the same. I would how ever keep an eye on the little swivel stand it does tend to fall off. So once you have loaded the Yak on take it off and stow it in the foot well.

    :clap2:

    Bobboy

You are right about the stand ,found mine half way up the beach when i finished playing

  5. I have got a c-tug , used it for the first time yesterday with my big game ,cant falt it ,the strap stayed nice and

tight and it was ok over pebbles and soft sand (yak was empty)

The one i have is orange , is there any difference between that and the green???(except my strap works)

  6. Hi all, tryed out my new toy today . Prowler Big Game, launched from Angle Bay , quite strong onshore wind with tide going

out, which made it a bit choppy. Managed to get out no problem, if i stopped paddleing wind would start to turn yak

Only went out about 300meters, started to get a bit more dodgy and being my first ever trip wanted to come home alive .

Also didn't have paddle leash ,did have PFD, sorry i can't show photos forgot camera, plus her indoors was trying to get

    sprogs off the rocks.

Can't compare with anything else cos this is my 1st yak. Found the ride quite dry ,most water being blown over the bow and

now and again on me. Not ideal conditions, then i gave number 1 son a ride, he sat where the ff could be mounted, went out about 30meters so i could still touch bottom if the worst happened ,he was wearing a proper life jacket, yak was still ok felt

very stable and very fast going to shore with the wind. Only had about a desertspoon of water in hull ,reason i think is front

hatch is a bit of a crap fit even with it lashed down tight , if the top of the hatch touched the rubber insert around the opening

problem solved. I will stick some rubber around the inside of the cover, take note OK

Any road up ,i will be having getting my hours in as it were before venturing out any distance .

Will keep you posted with pic's next time
