    (Patch).....who some of you have replied too his SENSIBLE questions

     

    Has took it upon himself (with good advice from his parents and grandparents) not to touch/use barbed hooks when fishing locally in a private lake for roach/carp

     

    so what does he do go behind everyones back and buy & use size 10 BARBED hair-rigs.....and wait for the punchline..........

     

    caught 1 roach.....(decent size for where we fish)

     

    and then when he decided to change hook.....he's friend walk past him got caught in the line and my son ended up with the size 10 barbed hook embeded in his finger

     

    lets say his mother was not impressed spending 5 1/2 hours in queens hospital havin to walk back to the station when the pubs are at kicking out time. :angry::angry::angry::angry:

     

    So please if you think he needs a good telling off please do so either on this thread or a thread that is started by Patch.........

    because he thinks he has done nothing wrong

    Floats

    Hi All,

     

    I recently got hold of some peacock quills and would like to have a go at making my own floats but the problem is PAINT, I checked out ebay and all can find is float paint in two colours Black & Flourescent red is this the only paint(float) I can use or is there an alternative many thanks :thumbs:

    Don't use them. Don't even be tempted to buy one. Learn how to handle fish correctly. If you can't then don't fish for them.

     

    Please note I'm not having a go at you personally.

    No problem Bingo, I asked. You are entitled to your opinion..........I would'nt use one I just never heard of one before.

    hi all I'm thinking of buying a reel for float fishing but there are so many out there I'm not sure which make would be the best.... somebody told me mitchell reels are the best ??? :crazy:

    I clean my rods with a damp cloth drying them with a dry tea towel, examine reel & line getting rid of any debris. Then i put my tackle back in the right places in my tackle box, give my keepnet/landing net a rinse and hang them out to dry. :thumbs:

    I don't think the licence fee is to high at 24.50, but I do feel having to buy an extra 24.50 for a second licence to fish a third rod a little off. Could they not sell a 3 rod licence for an extra 12.25? and also could they not have a single rod licence for those who only fish with one rod, they still exist, not everyone wants or needs a 3 rod set up. So why should they pay us much as Carp Anglers?

     

    Even though I never get my licence checked, would rather pay the money and have piece of mind that I will not get caught without one. After all fishing is suppossed to be relaxing. Not sure whether I would enjoy it, if I had to worry whether everyone who come along for a chat may be from the EA.

     

     

     

     

    I totally agree with whats been said I myself use one rod, so maybe they should have three seperate prices, for 1,2 or 3 rods. and maybe add an additional fee for game fishing ???

    Bigger Fish

    Hi There,

     

    I went fishing with my son at the weekend on Sunday we used maggots and caught about 12 roach the biggest was about 8oz :lol::headhurt: then on Monday we used sweetcorn and we caught about 20 roach and the smallest was about 12oz and the biggest was about 2lb.

     

    Any ideas why this is ????
