Strike a light ! Not many people can casually say they had a few roach over 2lbs! Out of interest was it loch or river?
We had a talk about this in a thread last year i think you or someone asked what a loch was ( Its was loch Fergus) in Ayrshire

Sea Trout can have sea lice when first up from the sea. Brown Trout can have freshwater leeches [like lice] but they are different from sea lice which can't live in freshwater.
Thanks they were sea trout I was told it was a bit early for them to be coming up the river but stranger things happen thanks again

I tend to use a braided leader of 15lbs dont know if that will help

Its a small loch on the west coast of Scotland about 1/2 mile long and 1/4 wide with a small island in the middle of it

Yes you are correct I will always the rules of the waters that I fish on But if you have an option it lets you use your own preferences

I am new to this site but having been fishing for many years and go with the flow of only part de barbing IE micro barb as this should stop the hook moving around but should be easy to remove. But it is up to you what you do T T F N

That is a very good point about the fish care too often I see people not using a landing net to land
big fish, but the thing that makes me mad is on a hot day keeping fish in the keep net in water
that is too shallow for too long
