  2. SPORT RELIEF

     

    ANGLING MIDSUMMER - MEGAMATCH

     

     

    Monday 21 June 2004

     

    The Specialist Anglers’ Alliance and Stoney & Friends are organising a special carp match on the prolific Gardner Tackle Thorpe Lea Fishery near Staines, Middlesex.

     

    This will be Specialist Anglers contribution to this great event, raising funds for a wide range of charities and good causes.

     

    The venue has been donated by RMC Angling and the British Waterways Board.

     

    Scales, tripods and weigh slings supplied by Reuben Heaton Limited.

     

    Tickets are £15 for each angler, all proceeds going to Sport Relief.

     

    MEGAMATCH is part of angling’s plan to run the biggest fishing match in the world with events planned throughout the UK.

     

    Fishing time will be from 6.30pm to 9.30pm with the draw for swims from 4.00pm onwards.

  4. I had the good fortune to meet Trevor, when he and John came all the way to Wraysbury to take part in the Pike Fish-In, in Feb 2002. And what a lovely guy he was. He was a fighter and a very brave man, in fact he told me off, in no uncertain terms for telling him those very words.

  7. Well i would say "Macmillan Cancer Relief" but failing that, not a problem with Angling Projects maybe biased though (helped build the place).

     

    But a little word of warning, watch out using the word "Charity" you must have a registered number, and i believe Les has not registered it yet. So please be carefull how things are worded.
