I may go the 7cm to see if those perch that where chasing yours feel a bit more confident and take. What do you think, was it the inital sight of it that got them chasing then they where spooked by the size. I think they would take the 7 cm one no probs? Let me know before I get one lol. Do you do a lot of pike fishing, oh btw was up at the canal two dead jacks floating and a buble near by, also a dead gull what's happening the jacks didn't have bite marks or anything.

I've been plagued by midges every session these days, many times I've been completely covered by them. I was wondering if anyone had any tips to get rid or avoid them. Darren

The puddle I speak of is 45 minutes drive from you, grate tench spot and carp. If you go tell the warden John hopkins sent you he may let you fish free. Ps. Search mundsley puddle on google maps that will take you straight there.

If your near mundsley get your self down to the puddle. It's not stocked but there are tons of fish nice size carp and tench. When they are not feeding theres good fun to be had with the breem and perch.

Have you seen the shoals of perch? Massive I got one just over the pound mark and one just under, nice fish. I found that putting most of the shot at the float and letting a single maggot sink all the way to the bottom slowly as possible was most effective. Total was 12 perch, the roach where kicking back somewhere else. Also seen the jacks invading the shoals every time I put some lose feed in, was very entertaining.

Had a bash right on the inside of the over pass and found that there's a small flow carrying fry about 8" of the bottom it was this that was causing me to drift into a small patch of weed. But overall I found the roach and wow why haven't I seen them before, managed 2 nice size roach same setup as you except size 18 hook and got a nice jack on the spinner, after spotting him doing his jaws thing lol. Think I've had him before he had a bite out of his tail, one of those big oes maybe? Going back up today about 5 maybe have you found they feed better in the morning? P.s tried one of those snails on the walls but nothing Darren

I've had a 6lb from there infact I'm sure I seen you that day. I heard I guy you know had a good size pike on the fly there and it's snapped him off so I think a small compition for the flys return would be interesting. Hello there, as you can see I'm new hear but not to fishing. Firstly I'm from Glasgow (near city centre) I fish mostly the forth and clyde canal and the basin. I'm sure the canal guys in here have spoken to me a few times and already gave me a few tips, but today is bad day is I'm now well and truly fed up of a really dirty venue . I'm hoping someone hear from Glasgow or there abouts who knows of a nice clean gravel pit maybe or something just as good. I'm hoping to get into a nice carp, the only place I've had one is in Mundsley, a place called the puddle. Anyway the fishing down there, in my opinion is a different class(or what I'm used to) so if anyone could point me in the right direction maybe some tips for the venue in question as well, for now that's me and thanks for taken the time to read my story Darren.
