Not sure it will work but harmless to try:
- device manager and remove all the devices
- cmd prompt and chkdsk /f then Yes to doing the checkdisk at next boot.
- reboot
- reinstall the devices
chkdsk only applies to hard drives.
Have you tried a Windows repair? Assuming you're using XP as per the instructions at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/h...ips/doug92.mspx

Demon have always supposedly been at the top of the pile? BUT since they took over 123.reg the service has been noting short of appalling!!
Pipex bought the webhosting company 123Reg.

Also worth a check at http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/top10.php

Have you tried disallowing the bots via robots.txt? This won't stop bad bots that ignore robots.txt, however it may reduce some traffic.

Lots of ip addresses starting with 74.6 all viewing different topics but lots of guests all in the forum at the same time.
Anybody know what these Ip's are please ?
Inktomi (MSN engine) is in the 74.6 range, an Inktomi bot cataloging you for MSN probably.
I'd stop worrying.

A DVD ripper is what's required, somthing like http://www.magicdvdripper.com/ although Google brings up a load more. They can be a bit hit and miss so you may have to try a couple.

I have (I THink)
How are you creating the RSS file and are you sure it's being created?
-
It's a different way of providing frequently updated information to clients/users.
For example, you may want to send out in an RSS feed the latest weather reports. The weather report is put into a specially formatted file sitting on a web server accessible on the internet, this file is updated at regular intervals.
The URL to pick up this file is advertised as an RSS feed.
Anyone with an RSS reader on their PCs can subscribe to this RSS feed (file) by putting the URL of this file into their RSS Reader, the RSS reader goes off at intervals to collect this file and display its contents on your PC.
The audio equivilent is a podcast.

Sounds like your PC, after the format and copying files to the HD, is going back to reboot off the CD again.
What is the boot device order in your bios?
After the first reboot do you get the message press any key to boot from cd?

Same problem here, only showing approx. 1st 5 posts in a thread and I'm an IE6 user.
Changing to the "Anglersnet" skin sorted the problem for me.

Exeter Angling Association member Steve Moore on has taken some photos of some sort of crude tagging system taking place on the Tiverton Canal in Devon. The water owners, PAC and the EA have been informed but as catching the culprits will be nigh on impossible it is hoped publicising this barbaric practise as much as possible on the net will make the culprits think again.

Thanks Squimp, much appreciated.
Excellent news re the Upper Thames, exactly what I was hoping for.

I'm moving to Swindon in a couple of weeks and the nearest rivers to me the Upper Thames at Cricklade and a tributary the River Ray.
I've found who owns the rights for these stretches, the Swindon Golden Carp AC, but their website doesn't have much information about these waters.
Anyone know anything about them by any chance?

I'm in the market for an Avon style rod for fishing small rivers for chub.
I'd like to carry as minimal tackle as possible and I'm considering an Avon rod with a threaded tip, to try and cover most float and ledger situations.
I wondered what the views are on screw in quiver tips, would it be better to go for a twin top rod?
Thanks in advance for any advice or views.
