  1. Fair comment Phil, but if it was up to me i would make them live by our rules, but its not down to the individual otherwise we'd be overrun by people taking the law into their own hands!

But thats not THEIR problem, its OURS for putting up with it.

Its about time the British put the blame for their own problems where it belongs instead of trying to blame everyone else.............at its own feet!

I just feel that we live in a society these days which is controlled by so many conflicting rules we are bound by them so tightly that common sense cant prevail!

  2. Thank goodnes for people like you Ken! I think people seem to be getting to caught up in this countries ever increasing left wing attitude! It seriously gets me hacked off that no one is allowed to say anything without being blasted by the p.c. brigade.

I'll agree that they can give her forty lashes when everyone who comes to this country embraces our language, culture, religeon and society because i know that'll never happen!

  3. I have only fished Broadlands once this year, early in the season, only caught one grassy about 13lb in 24hrs, its not an easy lake, mainly due to its size and pressure it recieves, the guy in the shed where you pay knows his stuff, so ask him whats been going on and where the carp have been coming from. As for methods, see what the day is like when you get there, pellet and boillie are always a good starting point but be prepared for something different as that can bring bonus fish. The pike fishing will probably be in full flow now and theres some crackin fish to be caught but i've never fished for them there so can't help there. I heard rumblings recently that its been stocked but don't know if there's and truth in that, let us know how you get on

  4. I have to say that it made me cringe when he was scaling and slicing the flank of the carp, don't get me wrong, i love eating fish and have got no problem with killing or gutting them. Just having grown up doing every little thing to protect the fish i catch it was just odd to me, I don't mind people eating carp and i would quite happily give it a go myself, i just worry, what with our influx of numerous eastern europeans that we will find people taking carp from our lakes and rivers, i know they'd be taking a swim if i found anyone doing it!

  5. Hey

What sort of size is the lake? and what size are the carp you're fishing for?

Winter carping isn't as difficult as it seems, if i were you, i'd spend more time watching the water and staying mobile, look for deeper water and sheltered areas and keep baiting to a minimum.

As for baits, i like the new KG1 boolies but haven't used them in the winter yet, i used to use Trigga Ice with a good sucess rate. I love tiger nuts but have always been under the impression they're again more summery. And methods really depend on what the bottom is like, sticks are good, but have you seen them on the korda underwater dvd's? Its interessting how they react and how easily they're washed away by passing fish, stick to small bags of whatever you choose.

Just my opinions so hope that helps
