Cold water and a small flood made it hard but not impossible.... Btw, does anyone know if the sesason in river North Esk has opened and how the fishing has been so far... i will be coming to Scotland/ North Esk the first week in may...

...yes, and its understandable, eels have decreased by 90% during the last 20 years or so... But, totally absurd, commercial fishing is still allowed, but only for those who catch the most!!! Its absolutely crazy, they are even allowed to expand their fishing... All in the name of profit and by the support of EU millions... and the commercial fishermens strong (evil) lobbyism... Ban all hamburgers... except Mc Donalds.... no difference...

Im afraid your absolutely right... in the beginning of time some misled people even recomended braid as leader for pikefishing... absurd... A few years ago when fishing for eel was allowed in Sweden we tried braid, it was absolutely worthless if there was anything sharp on the bottom...

...hello friends. The weather in sweden is slowly getting warmer and the ice is melting... Me and some good friends fished our yearly springweek in Småland and the Baltic... The fishing was poor but just when the depression peaked my friend Linus caught this lovely madame.... 24.25 pounds... what a fish!!! Soon the time for big zander will arrive but first I will visit scotland, North Esk for some salmon fishing the first week in may....

...greetings from Sweden in full winter. In just a few days winter struck hard. Ice is covering all the many lakes around Stockholm and I just couldnt resist some icefishing... a nice perch took the bait this time... Happy New Year.

Thanks Tigger... What I havent realized until recently is that zander is a fish that is a bit controversial in the UK... Not a natural inhabitant so to speak...? In Sweden its ranked very high, both as dinner and as a wonderful fish to fish for...

Hi again... Couldnt resist uploading som more pics. Todays fishing was spectacular... six fish between 7-9 pounds... All caught on vertical jigging. Enjoy.

Hello friends. There hasnt been many opportunities for me to fish lately but this sunday I suddenly discovered some free time that no one else had claimed... Said and done, I trailed my boat and a friend to a nearby lake for some zander fishing... The cold had laid its hand over our little lake, it had almost begun to froze but the fish didnt mind... The biggest one this day, appr. 10 pounds...

Ive used this bait for at least two years now and its great! Atually it even works well for trolling in slow speed. Jerk it or just wind it in and make long pauses... Last spring I caught 22 pike in one day on this wonderful lure...

Hi friends, autumn is closing in, very fast now... Big zander is soon to be caught but in the mean time I have been practising my second favourite fishing method, Fly fishing. Couldnt resist sharing a picture from river Em, a wonderful seatrout 8,8 pounds, 28 inches... So beautiful and so seldom caught... at least by me. Im so happy right now.
