Even though Im sure Phill made a genuine mistake it would be nice to see he was big enough to make an apology.
Three points:
1. The "VAT is included" comment on Mike's web-site was only added AFTER my complaint
2. The listing of prices is STILL confusing. If you see a vertical list of numbers with a total at the bottom you expect that the total includes ALL of the figures above it - Mikes web-site DOES NOT!!
3. I am willing to apologise for the strength of my sentiments but, bearing in mind comments 1 and 2, I still believe I was right to complain and I am glad to have bought this subject to the attention of the masses.
"Sorry Mike and thanks for reacting and responding so quickly"
Regards,
Phil

Have just, almost, been ripped off. While looking on the web for some specific fishing items I came across "Mikes Tackle Shop" in Edinburgh that had all I needed. Went through the normal selection process, registered, chose postage rate, just about to click confirm when .......... low and behold our good old friend VAT appeared in the calculation :-(
Instead of things being a little cheaper than elsewhere they were in fact dearer - so beware. Here is the e-mail that I sent to "Mike":
>>No wonder you APPEARED to be cheaper than anyone else .................... I have just wasted an hour of my life putting together a substantial order from you only to find that non of the costs include VAT!!
Nowhere does it state EXCLUDING VAT !! You have lost my order and will lose many more .......... you can't just 'tack' it on at the end and hope no-one will notice.
I will post on the forums to make sure others are aware of this "scam" and to ensure no-one else wastes time like I did this morning!!

Dave - where are you located. I would love to have some "native" coarse fish in my pond besides the tench and orfe.
Does anyone know of a stockist in the East Midlands area??

Phil

Red Lion at Whatstandwell has a short day ticket stretch. Used to be one of my favourite grayling haunts :-)

Do any of you "tackle tarts" have an old Terry Eustace (pre 1985) catalogue?? I am looking for a friend of mine in Germany who is collecting 'old' glass rods. Even a photo-copy would be a start. I don't think the catalogue has any collectors value (?) but I'm sure my friend would be willing to pay the going rate (whatever that is).

Phil

Do you have a complex?? Did I mention any names??
I listed this rod on several auctions and was talking to a number of people at the auctions end.
If you feel I am getting at you, why not contact me directly instead of "airing your dirty washing" in public!?!?!?!?

Item re-listed due to time wasters.
This is a brilliant piece of kit that no still water angler should be without.

Having watched this reel on e-bay for some time I wondered about bidding for it (currently £110). I have since done a 'google' search and found nothing but bad reports about this reel.
Does anyone on this list have similar experiences??

Phil

[QB]I've finally sorted out my spare fishing books. I've over 100 for sale on all sorts of fishing, from inexpensive ones to classics.
Hi Steve
Only just seen this - hope I'm not to late :-(
Please e-mail me the list - Thanks, Phil

Does anyone have a boat seat surplus to requirements. The type I am looking for is a padded seat and back-rest that clamps to the std. seats (boards) of small rowing/outboard type boats.
Upto £50 available if you have what I want.

Phil
