well get yourself into Service pals and give me a hand..just a mere woman trying to get some help on the pair trawling..Never heard of it before until I saw tugmistresses post in NESA with your story about the fish..this chap in Sp reckons that boom trawling is a lot worse that pair trawling...now I am getting confused with all these issues.

I have just been in Service Pals and I put a post in about pair trawling, and there's chap in there giving me such an ear bashing about, saying that I am just hystercal, that there is no real facts etc..its a pity you werent Ex.Forces Leon.you could have given him arun for his money.

are you for real !!! it's that large thing with a huge belly on it a few posts back .lol.lol.lol. anyhow the bass is a cracker but so is the recipe from Mr.Taylor.. cheers mate

we get the Scottish trawlers unload here onto wagons to go elsewhere...certainly not at this moment in time as the trawling has been poor, the cod just seem to have disappeared even off the shore..never known it to be so bad..got millions of small whiting, and that's about it..In fact I never even saw a haddock this year it's sad..real sad..

hello there tugmistress, just read the bit about pair trawling in the other forum, the stasts are quite frightening, I have never heard of it, but willhave a word with our trawler men here, have a couple of mates who trawl, but it's never been mentioned, shall have a poke about..

yep! lovely fish to catch give you a bloody good bite. this is one I caught last year off Blyth beach about this time of year actually this one was 6lb odd..

hi guys just came back from the beach it's looking o.k. for you at the moment the sea has calmed down again light south westerley winds...keep all your wee bits crossed for tomorrow.this is what it looks like.

Just keeping you informed on conditions around this area..at this moment in time it is 30 mile an hour winds gusting to 40.. south westerly. rough seas, boy you will have a fast drift if it keeps up lol.lol.lol. shall keep posting.

bring your shore gear with you lads, looks like the sea is starting to come away again.
Go to the Newbiggen Sea angling club. they give you all the marks around this area, plus they tell you how to get there and what tackle to use and what kind of rigs..website I mean..
Newbiggen up towards Amble is fishing.

been fishing the Whitley Bay area on the beach this week but it is throwing up a lot of weed after the rough seas.. the sea has been calm for 2 days but is changing as I speak

just been into a website called protonic as I tried to down load windows xp service pack2 they advised me to hold on from downloading sp2 they did however give me an url to go about removing SP2 from my system

hello boys, if you want some fishing marks around that area try the Newbiggen sea-angling club, they are on the website and have a load of information on all the marks plus how to get there, and what kind of rigs to use etc.....

o.k. can anyone tell me how long of a period does it take cod to produce the roe before going off to spawn ????
It's just that hubbies cod he caught last night was in the early stages...Is it not a bit early for the cod, seeing as they usually don't move off to spawn unitl about Feb. here in the north est.

read your post about washing them in salt water, I realize that we gif has got tap water, I did'nt make it. Definately agree with you , we always gut & fillet our fish in the water they were caught in, better taste and better colour, they stay white even after freezing. well spotted old chap.. lol lol lol lol

the cod might be biting in the evening but they were not doing very much on sunday morning..around 500 entered..94 or 96 weighed in it was one by a bag of 10 flatties..that's what i call sad..
